About Us

Nurse Clinicians and Counselling Psychologists, Kathleen Rea and Susan Poitras are counselors in private practice that have worked at the Children’s Provincial ADHD Clinic and have expertise working with the ADHD population through the lifespan; treating adults, parents and their children. As well, both clinicians have counseling experience in bereavement, general counselling, play therapy and mental health disorders.   Services are directed to support adults, families and individuals with mental health, ADHD, adjustment, bereavement and advocacy needs.

Dr. Candice Murray is available for psycho-education assessments and also works at the Provincial ADHD clinic.

Susan PoitrasSusan Poitras

Susan Poitras, RN, BSc.N. MSc.Psych, IBECPT, therapist and nurse clinician,  has 6 years experience working at the Provincial ADHD clinic at Children’s hospital, as well as a 10+ years experience working as a counselor at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.  Susan has had a private practice for generalized counseling, play therapy and ADHD lifespan and loss.  At the provincial clinic, Susan has implemented and developed the 8 week positive parent support program, the 1 day ADHD workshop,  and the education program for teachers and community.  At Canuck Place Susan has helped develop and implement the teen program and the 1 week family camp.  Susan also has diverse counseling experience in bereavement, loss, and mental health challenges.  Susan’s focus has been to support families, youth and adults experiencing loss and mental health problems to cope, flourish and empower their potential.

 

 

 

 

Kathleen Rea,                     RN,                     BA,                     M.C.Psych,                     RCC.Kathleen Rea

Kathleen Rea, RN, BA, M.C.Psych, RCC. has 8 years experience working at the Provincial ADHD clinic at Children’s hospital, and 3 years working as a counselor for North Shore Children and Adolescent clinic (Vancouver Coastal Health Authority).  Kathleen has had a private practice for 10 years focusing on generalized counseling, play therapy, and ADHD lifespan and loss. At the provincial clinic, Kathleen has implemented and developed the 8 week positive parent support program, the 1 day ADHD workshop,  and the education program for teachers and community.  Kathleen also has diverse counseling experience in bereavement, loss, drug and alcohol, and mental health challenges.  Kathleen’s focus has been to support families, youth and adults experiencing loss and mental health problems to cope, flourish and empower their potential.

 

 

 

 

Dr Candice Murray

Registered Psychologist has diverse knowledge and specialized in ADHD over the last 8 years.  Candice has had a private practice for many years, where she has developed and implemented ADHD adult groups and does psycho-educational assessments.
